Movement and Neuromuscular Control Strategies With Soft Passive Low Back Exoskeleton Use During EMS-Specific Physical Agility Tests
DescriptionEmergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics (EMT-Ps) are at a significantly higher risk of work-related low back injuries due to the physically and mentally demanding tasks performed by them[1] . Some of these tasks, such as heavy lifting beyond permissible limits, awkward twisting in confined spaces, and repetitive bending, especially during rescue and patient transfer operations place significant strain on their musculoskeletal systems [1-4] . This increases the risk of low back injuries which is evident with the annual prevalence rate of 30%-88% in their occupational domain [2, 4, 5].
