Working Hands: A Dynamic Hand Anthropometry Survey of Manufacturing Population

DescriptionErgonomics & safety professionals do not have adequate, fundamental knowledge about the proportion of dynamic hands across diverse populations to develop workspace clearance standards for the working hand in industrial workspaces. The goal of this research was to create a replicable 3D hand scanning protocol and database of 3D hand scans in four hand positions (Splay, Pinch, Power Grip, and Thumb Push) of Toyota’s occupational workers.
