118. Human Factors and Sustainability: The New Sustainability Technical Group Welcomes Collaborations

DescriptionThis poster showcases ways the HFES Sustainability TG and her members do or could support Sustainability, including ways we specifically further the attainment of many UN SDGs.
Sustainability is crucial for the survival of human society. In 2015 the UN identified 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identifying areas that must be addressed for our society to thrive and remain intact.
Human Factors and Ergonomics can meaningfully support Sustainable Development. We encourage members of the HFES community to consider how our work and skills, do or could contribute to Sustainability.
These efforts align with HFES's mission "to advance the science and practice of designing for people in systems through knowledge exchange, collaboration, and advocacy," as well as the call to action prominently featured on our website: "HFES believes that the seamless connection between humans and systems, and the connection between research and application, is vital to keeping all human beings safe."
