73. Empowering Teachers as Users in Human-Centered Design
DescriptionThe more new technologies are designed, the more complicated human-technology interactions become for us. For teachers, integrating any new technology is not only about solving a problem or innovating something new, rather adapting it for themselves and for students in a meaningful way. Teachers’ challenges increase when a non-human agent like Generative Artificial Intelligence comes into the equation. Teachers need to be aware of the impact it creates and the ways it can be used, such as formatively assessing students and finding summative assessment strategies which are non-replicable and reflect higher order thinking. Having a set of general guidelines about teachers as users will help the design process of a tool. The aim of this study is to classify the unique characteristics of teachers as a user population during the design and implementation of a technology tool for increasing their level of acceptances as towards a new tool.
