Calvin Nobles
Biography
Calvin is a retired Commander who served 26 years in the U.S. Navy. He previously served as Department Chair and Associate Professor in Information Technology and Management at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He also served as Vice President in the banking industry, specializing in cybersecurity information security, and technology. With a career spanning several decades, he is a seasoned executive known for implementing innovative changes.
He is deeply committed to cybersecurity. He actively engages in professional associations, conducts research, and speaks at international events. He's also a commercial-rated pilot and authored a book on integrating advanced aircraft into general aviation. His personal journey is featured in "Black Men Changing the Narrative Through Education." His dedication to cybersecurity is evident through his fellowships with the New America Think Tank in Washington, DC, and the Harvard University Belfer Center.
He is active on advisory boards and the Cyber Council for the Intelligence and National Security Alliance. His leadership in cybersecurity operations is evident, including a national-level technology prototype project. He advises senior executives on cyber operations, business continuity, cybersecurity strategies, and emerging technologies like big data analytics, machine learning, IoT, and AI. He is a leading researcher in integrating human factors engineering into cybersecurity.
He holds multiple doctoral degrees in areas including Offensive Cyber Engineering, Human Factors, Management and Engineering Technology, and Business Administration. He also has graduate degrees in Information Systems Security, Aeronautical Science, Business Administration, Military Strategy and Operational Art, an undergraduate degree in Business Management, and several certificates in cybersecurity.
