Tatiana Toumbeva
Biography
Dr. Tatiana Toumbeva, Senior Scientist and Team Lead, Aptima, Inc. uses her expertise in the areas of learning and development, selection and assessment, and occupational health psychology in her work within the Training, Learning, and Readiness Division. Dr. Toumbeva has led and supported various military research and development efforts, primarily working with the US Army. She applies learning principles and systems design to develop adaptive training capabilities in complex instructional settings. Current efforts include optimizing the use of assessments for formative feedback across Army contexts and creating tools to evaluate and develop leader competencies across career milestones. Dr. Toumbeva has also been integral to organizational transformation and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives that contribute to positive employee experiences and promote a culture of conscious inclusion. Prior to joining Aptima, she gained internal consulting experience at Verizon Communications where she spearheaded and successfully implemented national talent acquisition initiatives. Dr. Toumbeva completed her PhD in industrial-organizational psychology at Bowling Green State University. She also holds a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), a MA degree in mental health from Boston University, and a BS in biology from University of South Florida.
