Biography
Dr. Andrew Naber is a Research Psychologist at the Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences (ARI). Prior to ARI, Dr. Naber was a behavioral scientist at Aptima and the RAND Corporation, focusing on training, technology, and skill acquisition more broadly. His research interests focus primarily on individual and team training, individual differences, performance measurement, leadership, and culture. A dedicated mixed methodologist, Dr. Naber’s research efforts have comprised various roles including both quantitative data science and qualitative inquiry approaches. Dr. Naber has designed, led, and executed lab and field studies across local government, non-profit, military, and educational settings. Under Dr. Winfred Arthur, Jr., Dr. Naber managed an Air Force Research Lab (AFRL)-funded team training lab investigating after action reviews (AARs), distributed training, skill retention, individual differences, and team processes. His work has been published in Human Factors, Personality and Individual Differences, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Human Performance, and the Encyclopedia of Industrial Organizational Psychology. Dr. Naber received his PhD in industrial-organizational psychology from Texas A&M University, his MA in industrial-organizational psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, and his BA in psychology and religion from Gettysburg College.
