Matthew Scalia
Biography
Matthew Scalia is a doctoral student in Human Systems Engineering under Dr. Jamie Gorman in the Systems Psychology Lab at Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. He received his MS in Engineering Psychology from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS in Psychology from The Ohio State University. Matthew’s research focuses on human factors and teaming in both all-human and human-autonomy teams (HATs) with an emphasis on trust and multiteam systems. His research experience has included applying methods and measures from dynamical systems theory and statistical methods such as regression, mediation/moderation, factor analysis, and multilevel modeling to better understand team and individual performance, teamwork, team coordination, and create measurements of trust/distrust. Matthew also has extensive experience in User Research (UX) and usability design, methodologies, process modeling, and analyses for HATs, medical teams, medical, electronic, and physical products, and healthcare systems.
