Biography
Cristina Iani graduated in General and Experimental Psychology from the University of Padova and received a PhD in Psychology from the University of Bologna. She has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology, a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Visiting Researcher at the School of Behavioural and Brain Sciences of the University of Texas, Dallas.
She is currently Full Professor in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Her research interests range from cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience to cognitive ergonomics. Her research activity mainly focuses on the study of human cognitive functioning in both experimental and applied setting. Specifically, her recent research efforts have been devoted to the investigation of the mechanisms underlying the human ability to interact with objects (object’s affordances) and with other agents, either human or technological, and on the assessment of mental workload in complex tasks.
