Biography
Denise Sogemeier pursued a degree in Psychology at Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf. During her studies, she undertook several internships in diverse context, including a psychiatric clinic for children and teenagers, a market research institute, and a management consultancy. As a research assistant at the Faculty of Medicine of the university of Witten/Herdecke, she assisted in the development of an app. Additionally, she worked at the Mercedes-Benz AG where she also conducted her master's thesis on the effects of a seat-integrated mobilization system on the driver. In addition to her native German, she is fluent in English (Cambridge C1) and has a basic knowledge of French. She studied abroad and lived in various countries and cities, including Vancouver, Honolulu, San Francisco, and Miami. In addition to her professional commitments and research interests, she is an enthusiastic sportswoman and reader. She is sociable and enjoys meeting new people and cultures, as well as connecting with individuals across the globe.

Following her graduation in October 2021, Denise Sogemeier commenced employment with the BMW Group as a PhD candidate. Her research focuses on usability and user experience in the automotive context, with a particular emphasis on intercultural comparisons in perceived usability. She is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to attend conferences worldwide and engage with experienced colleagues and experts in the field of Human Factors.
