Biography
Melissa Afterman is a Board Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) with over 20 years of practice in laboratory, office, warehouse and manufacturing work environments. She earned her master’s degree in Human Factors Ergonomics Engineering from San Jose State University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Resource and Agricultural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is the director of the Online Ergonomics Training Program from the UC Berkeley Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) and a consultant and mentor with the UC Berkeley and San Francisco Human Factors & Ergonomics Research Lab and Graduate Training Program.
