Biography
Ranjana K. Mehta, PhD, is Texas A&M Presidential Impact Fellow and Associate Professor in the Wm. Michael Barnes Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, director of the NeuroErgonomics Lab, and graduate faculty at the Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience at Texas A&M University. She received her BE degree in production engineering from University of Mumbai, India, the MS degree in industrial engineering from University at Buffalo, and a PhD degree in industrial engineering from Virginia Tech. She is an expert in neuroergonomics, particularly using functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). She has applied this approach in assessing mind-motor-machine interactions to understand, predict, and augment human performance, particularly under fatigue and stress, when interacting with emerging and wearable neurotechnologies, and in high risk work domains such as emergency response.
