Biography
Dr. Karim Zahed is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. Dr. Zahed received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a specialization in Human Factors from Texas A&M University in December 2022. His research focuses on modeling human behavior to understand how to engage individuals with technology that helps sustain healthy habits in various test beds such as Drowsy Driving, Mental Health, Diabetes, and Hypertension. His current research interests are investigating human behavior and designing technologies and systems that encourage long-term usage by individuals. His research has provided to healthcare field extensive experience in user-centered design, usability testing, and understanding what makes users “tick.” Dr. Zahed is also a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) since 2017.
