Susannah Hoch
Biography
Ms. Susannah Hoch, Senior Research Engineer, Aptima, Inc. has a background in human-computer interaction and psychology. At Aptima, Ms. Hoch uses her expertise to design and develop tools for a variety of users. She has worked in areas of space/satellite operations, traffic/transportation engineering, and missile defense. Prior to joining Aptima, Ms. Hoch was a software engineer at the Kwajalein Missile Range, where she developed, tested, and provided training for a suite of visualization and analysis tools for the Mission Control Center. She also developed the displays for a safety system that provided 24-hour range-wide monitoring and control functionality. Ms. Hoch also worked as a human-systems collaboration engineer for Draper Laboratory and helped to define their human-systems integration methodology. Ms. Hoch holds a master’s degree in information science, specializing in human-computer interaction, from the University of Michigan and a BA in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
