Biography
As an aviation accident investigator, I am responsible for identifying the issues that affect human performance. My research focus is on cognitive bias and the elements affecting information processing and aeronautical decision making. I began my career with the Federal Aviation Administration in different capacities that included being writer/editor for the FAA Safety Briefing magazine as well as a human factors scientist in the Air Traffic Organization. Today, I an aviation accident investigator with the NTSB Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention. I am also a 12-year veteran of the United States Air Force. Along the way, I earned a doctorate in aviation human factors. In my time off, I am an avid traveler, play on a women’s travel hockey team, and I participate in distance running and cycling events.
