Casey R. Kovesdi is a human factors scientist/engineer in Idaho National Laboratory’s Human Factors and Reliability Department. His work has primarily focused on the application of human factors engineering in research and development activities specific to nuclear power plant modernization, funded by the Department of Energy Light Water Reactor Sustainability program. In this role, he performs technical HFE evaluations that ensure planned upgrades reflect state-of-the-art HFE design principles and do not introduce new human engineering deficiencies. He holds a bachelor’s in psychology from University of Toledo and a master’s in human factors psychology from University of Idaho. Before joining INL in 2015, he was a human factors researcher at Battelle Memorial Institute with a focus on medical device development as part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration pre-market submittal process.
