Dave Garrett Mitchell
Biography
Howdy my name is Dave Garrett Mitchell; I am an undergraduate Senior at Texas A&M University majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Roughly a decade ago my life changed forever, I was diagnosed with a rare lung condition called Mounier-Kuhn Syndrome. In short, with this condition I require vest therapy to assist in clearing my lungs.

Due to this piece of engineering and the support group around me I made it my goal in life to give others the opportunity to not sacrifice their quality of life due to a treatment regimen, but to maintain or even enhance their quality of life to live how they choose to do so. To do this, I realized I should get hands on experience while in undergrad to be exposed to the skills and knowledge that those within industry apply to be successful within this field. In the fall of 2022, I joined the Applied Cognitive Ergonomics (ACE) Lab at Texas A&M University under Dr. Farzan Sasangohar, and I have been studying under him to prepare for the next chapter in my life as an Industrial and Systems Engineer.
