 er of people working remotely has increased substantially, with 18% of peo
 ple in the US doing so in 2021. Existing video conferencing software has m
 ade it easier for individuals to have an immersive meeting experience. At 
 the same time, automated driving systems (ADS) are becoming more capable–s
 uch that drivers will be able to hand over control to the ADS and engage i
 n secondary tasks without continually attending to the roadway. While ADS 
 can handle most of the driving task, drivers must still be prepared to res
 ume driving. In these takeover situations, it may be difficult to actively
  engage in meeting activities.\n\nThis study seeks to understand the inter
 action of virtual meetings and driving with automation. We conducted a dri
 ving simulator experiment to answer the following questions: How does meet
 ing participation and engagement impact drivers’ takeover performance? and
  How does takeover performance and warning type affect drivers’ meeting pe
