SUMMARY:Understanding Contemporary Digital Habits, Behavior and Digital Ad
diction Interventions : A Meta Analysis
DESCRIPTION:Lecture\n\nYesh Chala and Heather Lum (Arizona State Universit
y)\n\nThis study delves into the increasing concerns surrounding digital d
evice usage, including internet addiction and problematic phone usage, whi
ch have garnered significant traction in recent years. While awareness of
the detrimental effects of excessive digital device use has increased, pra
ctical strategies for managing this dependency still need to be discovered
. Existing literature overwhelmingly advocates for complete abstinence fro
m digital devices, yet there needs to be more research into balanced appro
aches or interventions promoting intentional usage. Digital addictions oft
en stem from underlying issues, necessitating a comprehensive understandin
g of digital habits and the development of holistic procedures for digital
wellbeing. This study addresses these gaps by analyzing current literatur
e, probing into the challenges of distancing oneself from digital devices,
and examining the work on balanced policies for digital wellbeing. By pin
pointing gaps in interventional methodology and unraveling digital behavio
r and dependency, it offers guidance for future research in these critical
areas.\n\nTrack: Individual Differences in Performance\n\nSession Chair:
